Got a fingerprint reader a few days ago from bigpockets.co.uk (thanks to this thread on dvdforums (http://217.33.154.203/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=684161#post684161), god bless em).
£20 from £100, couldnt resist (love gadgets!!!)
It works perfectly, and for £20 I think its worth it for novelty value. Could be useful for forgetful ppl who cant remember passwords, or even for serious use as a high security device! It seamlessly replaces the windows logon with a fingerprint (or password override).
In XP I had to tinker a bit, however it is simple to get running. It cannot integrate with the new XP user manager it would seem, but if you press ctrl-alt-del you will find a win2k style box with the option to "Enroll Fingerprint". Do that per-user, and everything is hunky dorey!!!
Gonna mod it into my case (love my deskspace), see "proposed lian li mods" in mods forum :)
