i put BT to work the last 2 nights and grabbed this, but my first impressions are that its total crap. The controls are messy at best and the planes are extremely unresponsive compared to planes in BF1942 (not to mention desert combat). Are planes like this in real life or do i just suck at this game?

MS Flight Sim is exactly what it says: Flight Sim

BF1942 and DC are nowhere near real tbh.

You need to really get into FS... it's rewarding, if you like that sort of thing.

go see the doctor dude, you need a few more essential things for continued life - a heart, brain, pair of lungs and a BUSH/CHENEY 2004 banner for starters.

But seriouslah, like afaik it's not exactly supposed to be a fun/thrillnig "game" - it's more of an enjoyable experience. If you can master it, y'know take off at A and land safely at B, it's probably quite nice.

is fairly clear imo.

I realize that, and thats why i want to play it. I was however not expecting the plane to take 5 mins to go in a complete circle. I'll have another look at the controls and i think i'll have to cange all the defaults to something more reasanable for the game.

Try flying a learjet instead of a boeing 747?

what's a good combat flight sim? I like flight sims, but I tend to get a bit bored and think it's be better with guns!

i used to play alot of combat flight sims when i was younger and my favourite was US Navy fighter. The graphics werent terribly good but it was so fun I couldn't put it down. I'm sure there are better ones now.

I personally think flight simulator gets really repetitive and boring after two sucessful journey. Not to mention that it isn't anything like being in a real plane with 100 passenger behind you.

I personally like to see some space simulator, on top of that, you get to design your own shuttle and rocket, and its got to be able to come land on earth without turning into ashes etc.. how awesome would that be

doesn't really sound like my sort of thing tbh

i used to play Chuck Yeager's air combat when it was on the ol' crappy mac. Graphics were next to non-existent but it was nice and simple to fly and a lot of fun :)

I got MS combat simulator for xmas but never really got into is :/

I was talking about Chuck Yeagers at work today!

I've got a copy of USAF in the cupboard, that was fairly good iirc. Falcon 4.0 is the last benchmark air combat sim I can remember. :frown:

wherever his pimp tells him to stand :)

Last one I really got into was top gun on the Spectrum! Never really found a satisfying FS that caught my interest....

theres a bit on combat flight sim where you can just fight waves of whatever planes you want and see how many you can take out - thats a laugh.

I'd like a good combat flight sim too. Have a good joystick or two for it :)

I get bored of the ol' flight sims.. I'm more into the less realistic games with planes, such as Ace Combat 2, BF1942/Vietnam etc
