Spooky...

David Collett is about 30 seconds away from the E&E building which is handy for waking up at 8:55 for morning lectures. Elvyn Richards is the next nearest, and it's massive (600 odd people iirc) so it has a good hall spirit (but plenty of goons). After that there's Faraday, Royce, Telford which are all next door to Elvyn... they're nice and close to the Purple Onion shop, which is their main advantage! Telford is self catering.

David Collett is nice enough as long as you get one of the new blocks, the old ones (ABC) are shite. Being next door to your lecture halls is undeniably handy.

(There are others - Towers is right next to the Union but that means it's the other end of campus from engineering - nearly a 10 minute walk tbh! Butler Court is next door to that. The big old school stately home type one whose name I forget is next to the Union too... looks nice from the outside but it's cack inside. Rig Rutt, that's it.)

Other important stuff: drink plenty of "Nasty" (snakebite and black) and be sick on the Elvyn road on the way home (those bastards).
Eat breakfast when feasible - it's pretty much the best food you'll get all day.
Go to lectures (I realise this one sucks, but really... do it...)
Have fun! Make sure you get to know plenty of people in halls or join a club, cos most of the people on E&E (most, not all) will be lamers.

When I went it seemed a long way to anywhere unless you want to go to big square union thing.
Is all.

Was looking for something positive to say...and there are lots of geeks there, so I said that :)

went to Cambridge today to visit my brother and man that place is strange. It's nice but it's like you're living in an academic theme park. Everything is dominated by the uni and it has nice college buildings EVERYWHERE and lots of tourist shops and stuff.

Oddly enough, there aren't many tourists in Harlow!
